Custom Chips for Smaller AI
The heart of these devices is Amazon’s new AZ3 and AZ3 Pro processors, which were created to provide better AI performance. The Echo Dot Max comes with the AZ3 chip, which increases wake-word detection by 50 percent, blocks background noise more successfully, and enables Amazon’s most sophisticated microphone system. Meanwhile, the Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11 are fueled by the AZ3 Pro chip. The processor is more potent to enable more sophisticated language models and vision transformers, so Alexa is able to provide faster, smarter responses.
Both gadgets also have Omnisense technology, a range of sensors encompassing a 13-megapixel camera, radar, audio input, accelerometers, and Wi-Fi sensing. Amazon’s Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 are focusing on both visual clarity and smart home integration. Both of these devices possess in-cell touch screens that utilize negative liquid crystal technology to deliver clear visuals in any lighting environment.
They also have 13-megapixel cameras, through which Alexa can identify users and provide them with personalized data. Also, these screens serve as smart home hubs with integrated support for Zigbee, Matter, and Thread, meaning they support a high number of smart home devices.
Pricing and Availability
Amazon has placed the Echo Dot Max at $99.99, while the Echo Studio will retail for $219.99. The Echo Show 8 will cost $179.99, with the Echo Show 11 selling for $219.99. Pre-orders have already been placed in the U.S. The Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio will be on sale starting October 29, with the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 available for sale starting November 12.
