LPG Cylinder Rules Changed, Know About New Transfer and Delivery System

: Government took mega decision regarding LPG cylinder. The war between Israel and Iran continues. When this conflict will end? No one knows the answer. Meanwhile, whether the war stops or not, its impact is being felt across the world, including India. Prices are rising, starting from LPG to daily necessities. Common people are struggling to cope with the situation. In such a situation, the Indian government has once again been seen in action mode. And this decision has been made regarding LPG. Govt changes so many rules regarding cylinder. Let’s find out the details.

What are the new rules?

If your home has connections for both LPG and PNG, you will not be able to use them according to the government’s new rule. You must surrender the LPG connection as soon as possible. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have already started identifying households that use both PNG and LPG at the same time. According to the new rule, having both connections at the same address will be prohibited. LPG supply may be stopped. Therefore, caution is necessary.

LPG Transfer Voucher

Yes, this time the central government has introduced new voucher rules for LPG. And all LPG users must keep this in mind. Only then will they get the cylinder on time; otherwise, they will have to return empty-handed. The Central Government has given the option of a transfer voucher to PNG customers on surrendering their LPG cylinders, enabling them to retain their LPG connection in the future if they move to a non-PNG area. PNG customers have been given the option to surrender their LPG connection within 30 days of the PNG connection or to obtain a transfer voucher for a future LPG connection in a non-PNG area.

This amendment will provide significant relief to consumers who may relocate to areas where PNG’s infrastructure is not available. This will be particularly beneficial for those with frequent job transfers, expatriate families, renters, students, and/or families relocating to non-PNG areas. In a previous order, the government mandated that customers with both PNG and LPG connections immediately surrender their LPG connections. This order did not provide the option of preserving their connections for the future through transfer vouchers. This led many to refrain from depositing their LPG cylinders, fearing that obtaining a new connection would result in hassles and increased charges.

No More Refils

Among a bunch of government regulations, there is another important rule, and that is the refilling of cylinders. The government has imposed a ban on this matter. In other words, if an becomes empty, no customer will be able to refill it again. You will have to book a new gas cylinder. According to reports, this decision by the government is to prevent black marketing.
