EPFO update: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has finalised the interest rates for PF subscribers. Now, all subscribers are eagerly awaiting the credit of the interest amount into their accounts. It has been two months since the government announced the interest rate. Crores of subscribers could receive the interest payment in the last week of June or in July.

How the interest amount is credited
EPFO subscribers need to understand that the interest amount is credited to accounts through a specific process. After the EPF interest rate is announced, the government approves it. Subsequently, the EPFO reconciles accounts and updates the records of crores of subscribers before transferring the interest into their accounts.
Money will appear in the member’s passbook.
So far, the EPFO has not specified exactly when the interest amount will be credited to subscribers’ accounts. Once the EPFO transfers the funds, the amount will reflect in the subscriber’s EPF balance and passbook. Experts suggest that subscribers can check their EPF accounts; there are several ways to view the account balance.
How to check the balance
Subscribers can check their account balance via the EPFO website by logging in with their UAN and password. The account balance can also be checked using the UMANG app.
Subscribers can also obtain account balance details via missed call and SMS. For a missed call, dial 9966044425. To get information via SMS, send a message to 7738299899 with the text: UAN EPFOHO ENG.

Visit the official EPFO member passbook website.
Log in using your UAN (Universal Account Number), password, and captcha code.
Select the Member ID and check your balance.
Check via the UMANG app.
Download and open the UMANG app on your smartphone.
Type ‘EPFO’ in the search bar and navigate to the ‘Employee Centric Services’ option.
Click on ‘View Passbook’, enter your UAN, and log in using the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your registered mobile number to view the balance.
