Cockroach janta party: On Saturday, youth members of the Cockroach Janta Party staged a protest at Jantar Mantar against the central government regarding the NEET exam leak scandal. United in their cause, the youth demanded the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from his post. Additionally, the protesters issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government.
The party warned that if Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign or is not removed within seven days, the agitation will be expanded nationwide. The NEET exam paper had leaked, necessitating its cancellation—a major blow to students who had been preparing for it. Since then, there has been widespread anger among the youth regarding the Education Minister.
Protesters give a one-week deadline.
Ashutosh Ranka stated that the government now has seven days. If no action is taken against the Education Minister within this period, peaceful protests will be organised across the country. He mentioned receiving messages of support for the movement from various states and noted that the youth are ready to raise their voices.
Ranka asserted that the process of reforming the education system has begun today, and Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is the movement’s primary demand. He alleged that under the current system, the concerns of the youth regarding education and recruitment exams are not being taken seriously.
What CJP said
CJP leaders stated that this platform is for the youth, by the youth, and dedicated to the interests of the youth. They clarified that their campaign is not affiliated with any political party; rather, it is a movement advocating for the youth, education, the Constitution, and the nation.
People from multiple states participated.
Spokesperson Saurav Das claimed that people from various regions—including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and the Northeastern states—participated in the protest. He added that a large number of people have also extended online support for the demand for the Education Minister’s resignation.
CJP also noted that the protest remained entirely peaceful, with no disorder,r despite the large crowd. The organisation thanked the Delhi Police for facilitating the peaceful event. This movement was organised at the call of CJP founder Abhijit Dipke. The online campaign, which began in response to alleged irregularities in examination and recruitment processes, now appears to be gaining momentum at the grassroots level as well.
