Fenugreek seeds – 1 tablespoon

Red chilli powder – 1 to 2 teaspoons

Turmeric – 1 teaspoon

Hing – 1 pinch

Vinegar – 2 tablespoons

Salt – to taste

Sugar – 1 tablespoon

How is papaya pickle made?

Step 1- First, peel the papaya and cut it into pickle pieces. Then, sprinkle salt on the papaya and let it sit for 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Then, place the papaya in a cotton cloth and dry it thoroughly.

Step 2 – Then, heat mustard oil in a pan until it begins to smoke and then let it cool. Add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida and lightly fry them. Once the spices turn red, add turmeric and red chilli powder.

Step 3- Now add these spices to the papaya and mix well. Then, stir over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes, allowing the papaya to dissolve completely into the spices.

Step 4 – Now turn off the heat, let the mixture cool, add a little water, and then pour the pickle into a clean, dry glass jar.

Step 5- Leave the jar of pickles in the sun for 2-3 days. This pickle can be easily stored for up to 6 months.
