Yoghurt – 2-3 tablespoons
Chopped or ground spinach – 1 cup
Onion – 1 small, finely chopped
Green chillies – 1 to 2, chopped
Turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon
Grated ginger – 1 teaspoon
Red chilli – 1/2 teaspoon
Water – as needed
Salt – to taste
Oil or ghee – for frying the cheela
How is Bajra Palak Chilla made?
Step 1 – First, you’ll need to place the millet flour in a bowl, then add spinach, green chillies, ginger, onion, and all the spices. Add a little water and make a smooth, thick batter. Cover and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Step 2 – Then, heat a nonstick pan and apply oil to it. Pour a ladle of batter onto the pan and spread it into a circular shape to form the cheela.
Step 3 – Be careful not to make it too thin, or it might break. Now, pour some oil over the cheela and fry it until golden brown on both sides.
Step 4 – Your Bajra Palak Chilla is now ready. Serve it with green chutney, yoghurt, or mint-coriander chutney.
