What did Maduro say in court?

Upon entering the courtroom, he looked towards the gallery, which was filled with reporters and members of the public, and said that he had been “kidnapped.” A few minutes after his arrival, Judge Alvin Hellerstein asked Maduro to confirm his identity before beginning the proceedings. Maduro responded calmly in Spanish, which was translated in court, “Yes, I am Nicolás Maduro. The judge said that “time and place” would be set for Maduro to prove his innocence. During the dramatic 40-minute appearance in a New York court on Monday afternoon, Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, pleaded not guilty to drug and weapons charges. Maduro said, “I am innocent. I am a decent man.” His wife, Flores, also stated that she was “completely innocent.”
