Weather Alert: People in North India are suffering greatly due to severe heat. Meanwhile, an alert has been issued for rain in North India over the next seven days due to a Western Disturbance. The Meteorological Department has released a fresh bulletin stating that a spell of rain is likely across Northwest India until the 13th due to the influence of the Western Disturbance. Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds (50-60 km/h) and hailstorms are predicted for June 11 and 12, 2026. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain over the next six days in Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, and Western Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Meteorological Department, the Northern Limit of the Monsoon is passing through 18°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18°N/70°E, Harnai, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Nandyal, Chennai, 15.5°N/85°E, 22°N/90°E, 23.5°N/91°E, 25°N/90°E, Siliguri, and 27.5°N/87.5°E.
Conditions are favourable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon over the next 3-4 days. It is expected to progress into the remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and the southwest Bay of Bengal; into the west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal and further parts of West Bengal; and into parts of Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
Rainfall in Northwest India
– The Meteorological Department forecasts a likelihood of rain in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh between June 13 and 16.
– Rain is expected in Himachal Pradesh between June 14 and 16. – A rainfall alert has been issued for East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, and West Uttar Pradesh for June 11–16.
– An alert has been issued for West Rajasthan regarding rainfall between June 11 and 16.
– Rain is expected in Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand on June 11–12.

– A rainfall alert has been issued for Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and West Madhya Pradesh for the period of June 11–16.
