Hero MotoCorp has officially launched its highly popular motorcycle, the Super Splendor, in India in an all-new and advanced avatar, the Hero Super Splendor XTEC 2.0. Targeting the new generation of customers, the company has set its starting ex-showroom price at ₹86,500. This new model not only features several modern electronic features, but also significantly improves its looks and, most importantly, its mileage.
Engine and Mileage

Regarding mechanical components, the new Super Splendor Xtec 2.0 features the company’s proven and highly reliable 124.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This refined engine produces a maximum power of 10.7 hp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It’s paired with a smooth 5-speed gearbox for improved speed control.
The biggest news is the bike’s mileage. Hero MotoCorp claims that this new motorcycle will deliver a robust mileage of 72 km/l, a full 4 km/l increase over the outgoing model. To achieve this excellent fuel efficiency, the company has utilized two innovative technologies. The first is APFI (Advanced Programmed Fuel Injection), which delivers the exact amount of fuel to the engine as needed, ensuring no wasted fuel.
High-Tech Features and Safety
The biggest safety update on this bike is the addition of hazard lights. For safety on the highway during bad weather, fog, or emergencies, all four indicators can be activated simultaneously, a rarity among bikes in this segment.
For better braking control, it features a 240mm disc brake at the front (though a drum variant is also available for budget buyers), telescopic suspension at the front, and an engine kill switch on the handlebar for instant engine shutdown in case of an emergency.
In addition, the bike features a brand-new, fully digital instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity. By connecting it to your smartphone, riders can see incoming calls, SMS alerts, caller ID, and the phone’s battery status on the screen.
This display also provides important information such as real-time mileage (the bike’s average mileage at that time) and low-fuel warning. A modern USB Type-C charging port is also fitted to keep your mobile charged during travel.
New Sporty Look and Stunning Color Options

This motorcycle looks much more sporty and premium than the outgoing model. Hero has made several significant cosmetic changes to refresh its visual identity. To give it a car-like finish, it features a stunning 3D chrome emblem, dynamic dual-tone body graphics, a striking XTEC 2.0 signature badge, and attractive rim tape on the wheels.
For a comfortable ride, it features a dual-texture seat with a new design and stylish stitching, preventing fatigue during long journeys. This new motorcycle is available in five attractive and trendy color options: Glossy Black, Candy Blazing Red, Matt Axis Grey, Matt Nexus Blue, and Matt Chestnut Brown.
Variants and Price
Hero MotoCorp has launched this bike in the Indian market in two main variants. The base Drum Brake variant is priced at ₹86,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The top Disc Brake variant, which offers improved safety and greater stopping power, is priced at ₹90,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Upon its official launch in the Indian two-wheeler market, this new bike will face tough competition from established 125cc motorcycles like the Honda Shine 125, TVS Raider 125, and Bajaj Pulsar 125.
