Annapurna Bhandar Yojana– Who Can Receive Rs 3,000 Per Month in West Bengal? Know How to Apply

: Are you a resident of West Bengal and have been waiting for government assistance? Then there’s some very happy news for you. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has launched the “Annapurna Yojana” to empower women in the state. Under this scheme, the government will provide direct assistance of Rs 3,000 per month to every woman.

The most interesting thing is that forms for it have become available. This scheme will replace the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme, with changes that will provide even greater benefits to women. If you also want to take advantage of this scheme, then this news is for you.

Following the Chief Minister’s announcement, forms are being issued from the State Secretariat starting today. However, online application will be available on the portal from June 1, 2026. The government has clarified that all Indian women are eligible to benefit from this scheme.

The government has clarified that the application process for the Yojana will begin on June 1, 2026, and will continue for the next 90 days. Importantly, beneficiaries will be able to apply both online and offline. However, to benefit from the scheme, it is mandatory to link bank accounts with Aadhaar and DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), so that funds can be transferred directly to the accounts.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced this scheme at the first cabinet meeting held at Nabanna. Subsequently, on May 19, the Finance Department issued a notification outlining who would benefit from the scheme and who would be excluded. Despite this, many doubts still persist.

The biggest question is whether all women who benefit from the Lakshmi Bhandaar scheme will automatically be eligible for the Annapurna Bhandaar scheme. Many also want to know whether women who have previously been excluded from the Lakshmi Bhandaar scheme will also be able to apply for this new scheme. The government says that this scheme will prove to be a major relief for economically weaker families. Political circles are also considering it a very important step, as the direct financial assistance of 3,000 rupees can have an impact on both the social and political levels.

More advantages with the Annapurna Yojana

In addition to financial support, CM Suvendu Adhikari has made several significant decisions…

No liquor shops will be permitted within a one-kilometer radius of schools, colleges, and places of worship.

400 such Maa canteens will be established across the state, offering a complete meal of fish and rice for just Rs 5. A new ‘Ayush Department’ will also be formed, distinct from the Health Department.

The ‘Annapurna Yojana’ represents a major initiative aimed at alleviating the financial struggles faced by women in Bengal.
