Dwayne Bravo surprised to hear that from MS Dhoni, then the skipper of CSK
Dwayne Bravo praised Dhoni’s captaincy on the ‘Beard Before Wicket’ podcast and explained how Dhoni showed faith and trust in him. Bravo said, “In 2018, when we were returning from the ban, I once dived to catch a ball while fielding at long-on. Then Dhoni called me and said, ‘Never dive on the cricket field. Your four overs are more important than saving four runs.’ When he said this, I was surprised.”

The star all-rounder further added, “After that, I started fielding in the 30-yard circle. This was the approach Dhoni used. He knew what you were good at, and you just had to focus on that. He always encouraged you to be the best at that.”
He further said that Dhoni asked him about the field position in his first over. Bravo continues, “I told him what field placement I wanted and after that he never said anything to me about field placement again. I felt that he had complete confidence in me. He was like my elder brother. He just let me be myself, he did not try to change anything.”
