UP Government Update: The UP government has stepped forward to assist victims of ‘triple talaq’ and acid attacks. Victims of triple talaq and in UP will be provided with government housing. Additionally, the Yogi Adityanath government has decided that these women should receive special benefits under government schemes to foster their empowerment.

The Yogi government is preparing to extend the benefits of schemes such as the PM Awas Yojana, , Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana to these victimised women.

Process Initiated

Acting on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Women’s Welfare Department has initiated departmental action. Comprehensive data regarding women affected by triple talaq and acid attacks, as well as , is being collected to ensure that eligible women can access scheme benefits on a priority basis.

The process of drafting necessary guidelines and government orders at the administrative level is also underway. The Women’s Welfare Department is currently gathering verified details of the affected women.

Identification and Linking to Schemes

Beneficiaries will be identified based on verification and linked to various schemes. The Yogi government aims to ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of government schemes due to a lack of information or procedural complexities. Inter-departmental coordination is being established to achieve this.

During a high-level meeting on this matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to provide permanent housing—under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana—to women who have faced triple talaq or acid attacks and lack permanent accommodation.

CM Yogi also directed that these women and their families be linked to the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana to ensure they receive healthcare benefits.
