Dense fog has enveloped Delhi and its surrounding areas since morning. The biting cold has become a major problem in various parts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. This has also led to an increase in road accidents. Some parts of South India are experiencing rainfall. Rainfall Expected in Several Areas
According to the Meteorological Department, a warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for some parts of the country. The system formed in the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify soon. According to the forecast, due to the marine activity, heavy rainfall is likely in several parts of Tamil Nadu on January 9th and 10th. Thunderstorms are also expected along with the heavy rain.
A heavy rainfall alert has also been issued for various places in Kerala. Some areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana may also experience rainfall. Rainfall is also expected in several places in Karnataka.

Dense Fog to Cause Problems Here
According to the IMD, dense to very dense fog is likely in several areas of Punjab and western Rajasthan. Besides these, dense fog is also expected in Uttar Pradesh until the morning of January 9th.
The IMD has predicted dense fog in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana. Dense fog is also likely in states like Bihar from January 10th to 15th.

Weather in Delhi NCR
According to the IMD, the biting cold in Delhi NCR has made life difficult. On Thursday, the lowest temperature recorded was between 5 and 6 degrees Celsius. According to the meteorological department, temperatures are expected to drop below 5 degrees Celsius by Saturday.
Furthermore, temperatures in various parts of the country may fall even further over the next week. However, no significant change in minimum temperatures is expected in Northwest India, East India, and Gujarat.
