How to do biometric lock?
- First of all go to the official website of UIDAI.
- Select the option of Biometric
- Lock/Unlock in Aadhaar Services.
- Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and captcha.
- Verify with the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
- After this you can lock the biometric.
- This feature is also available through the mAadhaar app.
- You can log in to the app and go to Biometric Settings to enable the lock.
If fingerprint verification is ever required, the biometric unlock can be temporarily performed using an OTP. It automatically relocks after a short while.Will this disrupt everyday banking operations? No. Biometric locks only affect fingerprint or iris-based authentication. They don’t affect UPI, net banking, debit card, or ATM transactions.
