Weather Alert: According to the Meteorological Department, a spell of storms and rainfall is likely to resume across the country. Over the past 48 hours, rain and stormy conditions have been observed in most states of the country. Consequently, a decline in maximum temperatures has also been noted. According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to strong gusty winds are expected today across Northwest, Central, and adjoining East India, with the possibility of hailstorms in isolated areas.
The department forecasts light to heavy rainfall this week in Northeast India and the Southern Peninsular region. Meanwhile, heatwave conditions across the country have subsided.
Based on the IMD’s forecast, an alert regarding rain and storms has been issued for 19 states—including UP, Delhi, and Bihar—for tomorrow, June 1st. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen to avoid venturing near riverbanks unnecessarily. Due to the severity of the storms, trees and vegetation could be uprooted in various districts across several North Indian states.
