Vivo T5 Series Launched in India With Massive 7200mAh Battery, 44W Fast Charging Starting at Just ₹18,999

Vivo has now rolled out their T5 series in India. It’s aimed at consumers who seek extreme gaming, endurance, and build without shelling out top dollar. The biggest draw of the whole range has to be its enormous 7200mAh battery, which makes the one of the biggest battery smartphones in the mid-range segment. It’s also accompanied by a rapid 120Hz screen, the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo chip, and robust IP69-level build.

Vivo T5 Series Price in India

Vivo launched the T5 series at very competitive price points within the sub-25,000 range to compete directly with performance-centric devices from Realme, iQOO, and Redmi. The entry-level model, equipped with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, is priced at 18,999. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is available for 20,999 and the top-end model featuring 8GB RAM and 256GB storage can be purchased for 22,999. These devices can currently be found on Flipkart, the official Vivo online store and also through physical retailers across India.

7200mAh battery is the star attraction

The undisputed center of attraction of the entire Vivo T5 lineup is its gigantic 7200mAh battery. Vivo claims they have used high-density battery materials to maintain a slim profile despite the immense capacity. The device measures about 0.839 cm in thickness, which is a commendable feat. Even heavy usage, involving intense gaming, video streaming and excessive multitasking is sure to last beyond a full day, eliminating the need for constant charger runs.

Fast Charging and Bypass Charging

To keep the immense 7200mAh battery juiced up, Vivo has incorporated 44W Smart FlashCharge support. Vivo reports that it will take approximately 91 minutes to completely charge the phone from 1% to 100%. The Vivo T5 series also supports bypass charging that diverts power to the motherboard while gaming without overcharging the battery and causing heat issues. You can also reverse wired charge other devices with the help of this Vivo phone.

MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo

Under the hood, the Vivo T5 series is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo chipset. This processor is built on an efficient 4nm architecture and according to Vivo’s statements, it can achieve speeds exceeding a million on the AnTuTu benchmark platform. Users can opt for up to 8GB of extended RAM for smoother performance with several apps open in the background. The gaming experience is likely to be lag-free even in demanding games, especially with its thermal management system.

120Hz Display and Stereo Speakers

The smartphone features a large 6.76-inch Full HD+ LCD panel which refreshes at a brisk 120Hz. Vivo also claims that the display can go up to 1200 nits in peak brightness, ensuring good visibility outdoors. Supporting the crisp visual output are dual stereo speakers with up to 400 percent boost for a louder output. Together, the large screen and booming stereo speakers would result in a superior multimedia and gaming experience.

50MP camera and 4K video recording

In terms of cameras, the Vivo T5 packs a 50MP Sony Ultra-HD AI primary camera and a 2MP bokeh sensor to enhance portrait shots. The front houses a 32MP selfie camera that can capture detailed images for social media and video calls. Unsurprisingly, it also includes a feature we rarely see in this price range: 4K video recording at 30fps on both the front and rear cameras. Optical image stabilization will also be available for smooth recordings.

Rugged build adds an extra layer of protection

Durability is another area where Vivo is heavily focused on the T5 series. The devices have IP68 and IP69+ dust and water resistance ratings, making them virtually impervious to splashes and even high-pressure water jets. Vivo claims that the devices have been certified for SGS 5-star drop resistance and undergo military-grade durability tests. Extreme temperatures ranging from -21 degrees Celsius up to 71 degrees Celsius are well tolerated, making it highly reliable for harsh external environments.

Final Verdict

The Vivo T5 series comes across as an aggressive launch in the competitive Indian sub-25,000 price bracket. With the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant starting at 18,999, the mid-tier 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model costing 20,999, and the high-end 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model for 22,999, Vivo intends for this lineup to go head-to-head with the Realme, Redmi, iQOO, and Motorola’s performance-oriented and battery-centric mid-range devices.
