When the internet is unavailable, follow these 5 easy steps to send money:
Step 1: Dial *99# from your phone: Start by opening your phone’s dialer, entering *99#, and pressing the call button. Ensure you dial from the mobile number associated with your bank account. This service is compatible with nearly all major banks in India.
Step 2: Choose the “Send Money” option. After dialing, a pop-up menu will show up on your phone screen, presenting various banking options like “Send Money,” “Request Money,” “Check Balance,” and “My Profile.” You will need to respond by entering the number corresponding to the “Send Money” option to proceed with the transfer.
Step 3: Decide how to send the money. The next screen will provide options for how you wish to send the money. You can transfer funds using the recipient’s UPI ID, mobile number, or bank account number along with the IFSC code. Choose the method that suits you best.
Step 4: Enter the recipient’s details and amount: Depending on the method you’ve chosen, carefully type in the recipient’s mobile number, UPI ID, or bank details. Then, enter the amount you want to send. Some banks also allow you to add a small note or remark, such as rent, food, etc., along with the transaction. Be sure to double-check your details before proceeding.
Step 5: Enter your UPI PIN: In the final step, enter your secret UPI PIN to complete the payment. Once you enter the PIN, your payment will be processed immediately and the funds will be transferred to the recipient’s account. Once the transaction is successful, you will receive a confirmation on your screen and via SMS.
