The top-selling point of the Honor X80 is undoubtedly the 10,000mAh battery capacity. Compare it to the massive 8,300mAh battery in the already humongous Honor X70. Giant batteries normally make for thick, unhandy phones. Honor seems to be implementing new silicon-carbon battery technology, which permits smartphone manufacturers to push the boundary of battery capacities without considerably inflating phone thickness and weight in day-to-day usage.
90W fast charging changes everything.
Another usual pain point with giant batteries is slow charging speeds. However, it looks like Honor is addressing this issue with a blistering fast wired charging capacity. Leaked information states the device will boast a 90W wired charging capability. If true, a full charge of that giant battery should take an estimated 75 to 80 minutes. The potential of a dual-day (or multi-day!) battery life coupled with ultra-fast charging is very compelling to frequent travelers, gamers, and anyone that hates charging anxiety.
Display and design
Despite being geared towards the mid-range segment, Honor appears to be offering an excellent display panel. It’s rumored to sport a 6.8-inch flat LTPS OLED panel with a crisp 1.5K resolution and a super-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. On top of all this, it will maintain the durable X-series shock-resistant body that the brand has been championing in recent years.
The Snapdragon chipset focuses on efficiency.
While you might expect a blazing-fast chipset for heavy gaming, it looks like Honor is taking a different approach. The smartphone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, which focuses on efficient performance rather than raw speed. This means smoother app performance, multitasking and a decent gaming experience without a major performance bottleneck. Endurance is definitely Honor’s goal with this mid-ranger.
Multiple color options are expected.
Leaks suggest the phone will be released in a vibrant palette of colors including: Mystic Black, Moonlight White, Lightning Red, and Vibrant Orange. Honor has clearly positioned itself in the youth market for a while, and these color choices reflect this ambition. Coupled with its thin bezels, this looks like it will be a visually stunning phone.
Price and launch timeline.
If the rumors are to be believed, the Honor X80 will be launching in China sometime in June 2026. Pricing for the Chinese market is expected to start from CNY 1,000, but that will likely jump significantly in India and other markets after accounting for taxes and import charges. Estimates for India put the price at 22,000 to 23,000 Indian Rupees. If Honor can deliver this device at this price point and with the leaked specifications, it could be the best battery phone on the market this year.
