Indian smartphone maker Lava is once again set to bring a budget 5G smartphone to India. The company has now confirmed that the Lava Bold N2 5G will be unveiled in India on 3rd June at 12 PM. The device is expected to be for all those who wish to experience 5G at a much affordable price point.
This will be the 5G version of the Lava Bold N2 4G that was released earlier this year in February. Though Lava hasn’t revealed the entire spec sheet yet, the teaser images and the listings that have surfaced online give us a decent idea about what we can expect from this budget 5G smartphone. With Android 16 and a clean stock-like UI, paired with 5G connectivity, the Lava Bold N2 5G might become one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in India this year.
Lava Bold N2 5G Design Revealed Ahead of Launch
Lava has already begun teasing the smartphone online via Flipkart and its social media pages.
From the teasers that have been published, the Lava Bold N2 5G appears to come in a shiny dark blue finish along with another golden color variant. The back panel of the smartphone houses a square camera module with two rear cameras along with an LED flash. Instead of going the gaming phone route with flashy design language, Lava seems to be focused on simplicity and a practical design which should be apt for first time smartphone users and those upgrading from older 4G phones.
The right side of the frame should house the physical buttons whereas the front could be expected to flaunt a modern punch-hole display.
13MP Camera Confirmed
Among the very few confirmed specs from Lava itself, the camera specifications are confirmed.
The Lava Bold N2 5G will be equipped with a 13MP primary rear camera. While this may not seem much against flagship smartphones, it should be adequate given the likely sub-₹10k price point. Reports hint at the secondary rear camera to likely serve as a depth sensor for portrait shots while the front could be a 5MP shooter for selfies and video calls. Lava tends to prioritize stable day-to-day performance and clean software over aggressive camera hardware at this segment.
Android 16 Out of the Box
The software experience might be the biggest USP of the Lava Bold N2 5G.
The smartphone is confirmed to boot with Android 16 out of the box, which is pretty impressive for an entry-level device. Lava phones are generally known for their near stock Android experience and clean UI with minimum bloatware. This gives a smoother and cleaner experience compared to heavily customized skins available on other budget Android phones. A clean UI could be one of the major deciding factors for those who are planning to upgrade from older 4G phones.
Expected Specifications
Though Lava hasn’t confirmed the hardware specifications of the Bold N2 5G, we expect it to share a lot with its 4G predecessor, albeit with an upgrade to the connectivity.
The display on the Bold N2 5G should be a large 6.75-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling. In terms of processing, it is expected to be powered by an entry-level processor that supports 5G. While earlier rumors pointed towards the Unisoc SC9863A chipset on the 4G model, we are hoping to see a much more capable 5G-ready chip on the successor.
The battery life should remain one of the key strengths with a massive 5,000mAh battery likely to be included, coupled with support for 10W wired charging.

Lava seems to be targeting users who just want 5G access at an affordable price point without any extra bells and whistles. The Lava Bold N2 5G is expected to be a reliable everyday performer which should excel at calls, social media, watching YouTube, using WhatsApp and a moderate amount of multitasking. This makes the smartphone a great fit for students, first time smartphone users, people looking for a secondary device, and those who wish to upgrade from their old 4G devices.
Expected Price in India
Although official pricing hasn’t been revealed by Lava, we expect the Lava Bold N2 5G to be priced under ₹10,000 in India. The aggressive pricing could make the smartphone a direct competitor to some of the budget offerings from brands like Redmi, POCO, Itel, Infinix, and Tecno in the affordable 5G segment. The ultimate pricing of the device will play a crucial role in its success in the Indian market.
