The Yogi government has entrusted this responsibility to the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. The path for recruitment has been cleared.

More than 45,000 Home Guard positions are to be filled in Uttar Pradesh. Even 10th-grade passouts will be able to fulfil their dream of becoming a Home Guard. This government recruitment will prove to be a boost for those preparing for government jobs. It is expected that the application process will begin soon. Approximately 6 million applications are expected. Candidates will be able to apply district-wise. The department will soon release the number of posts by district.

Government Order Issued

The government has issued a government order for recruitment to Home Guard positions in Uttar Pradesh. It is expected that the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board will issue a notification soon, after which the application process will begin. According to sources, the application process is expected to begin on July 1, 2026.

This time, the number of vacancies for men and women will be different. Only men and women will be able to apply according to the number of positions. The recruitment board will conduct written and physical examinations to maintain transparency in the Home Guard recruitment and to provide jobs to the eligible. The board will designate the centres for this. According to the government order, the minimum qualification for the application will be 10th grade.

Age Limits for Applications

There will also be a set age limit for Home Guard recruitment. Candidates with a minimum age of 18 and a maximum of 30 years can apply. Age will be calculated based on July 1 of the year of enrollment. Relaxations will be provided to OBC, SC, ST, and other reserved category candidates.

This relaxation will apply only to native residents of Uttar Pradesh. A 100-mark written examination will be conducted for the selection of candidates. The examination will be conducted in two shifts. The written exam will last only 2 hours. The syllabus will be released by the board soon. The merit list will be prepared based on the written exam.
