PNB’s ATM Cash Limit Reduced, New Rule Starts April 1

PNB: Big news for PNB customers. Punjab National Bank (PNB) has made the decision to lower the daily cash withdrawal limit for its debit cards at ATMs. The bank announced that these new regulations will take effect starting April 1, 2026. This adjustment will only impact specific debit card variants, while the limits for other cards will stay unchanged. According to the bank, this move aims to enhance customer security, mitigate risks, and encourage digital banking. As a result, the daily cash withdrawal limit on certain cards has been decreased by as much as 50 percent.

The cards affected by the limit reduction from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 50 thousand include the following:

– RuPay NCMC Platinum Domestic Debit Card
– RuPay NCMC Platinum International Debit Card
– RuPay Women Power Platinum Debit Card
– RuPay PNB Palash Debit Card (Recycled PVC Debit Card)
– RuPay Business Platinum NCMC Debit Card
– Mastercard Platinum Debit Card
– Visa Gold Debit Card
– PNB Mastercard Platinum Rise

Additionally, the cash withdrawal limits have been lowered from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 75 thousand on some premium debit cards. The new maximum daily withdrawal limit for the following cards is now Rs 75,000:

– RuPay Select Debit Card
– PNB RuPay Select Neo Debit Card
– PNB RuPay Select Excel Debit Card
– Visa Signature Debit Card
– Mastercard Business Debit Card

PNB has also confirmed that there will be no changes to the ATM cash withdrawal limits for debit cards not included in this list. This means that the limits for other cards will remain unchanged. PNB customers have the option to set or reset their ATM cash withdrawal limits within the allowed range. This can be accomplished through internet banking, the PNBOne mobile app, IVR service, or WhatsApp banking.

POS and online transactions are not affected

The bank also clarified that the changes to ATM withdrawal limits will not affect POS (Point of Sale), e-commerce, or contactless payment limits. Transaction limits through these channels will remain unchanged. Customers can log in to Internet Banking and select the Debit Card Personalization option in the Value Added Services section. They can then enter their card details to set a new limit. The new limit will be applied after OTP verification.
