Under this scheme, the central government provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmers. So far, the government has sent 21 installments to farmers’ accounts.

The last installment, the 21st, was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19th from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. At that time, Rs 18,000 crore was transferred to the accounts of over 9 crore farmers. A total of over Rs 4 lakh crore has been disbursed to farmers under this scheme so far.
