As reported by the Economic Times, the central government is set to introduce a WhatsApp-based chatbot to facilitate this new scheme. Once the system is fully operational, a QR code will be featured in advertisements and promotional materials related to the initiative. Consumers can scan this code to access the WhatsApp chatbot directly. You will just need to input your household’s approved electricity load and last month’s electricity bill. The bot will quickly calculate the total subsidy you may receive from both the central and state governments. Additionally, it will provide a precise estimate of the total savings you can expect over the lifespan of your solar system.
You will get the option of 5 vendors sitting at home
Many individuals are concerned about which dealer or vendor to trust for solar panel installation. The government has devised a practical solution to address this issue. After entering your state and district information on WhatsApp, the chatbot will present a list of the top five vendors in your vicinity, complete with their contact numbers. Consumers will have the option to message vendors directly from the chat box or request a callback. If someone wishes to view the entire list, they will be directed to the national portal. Most importantly, if a consumer encounters any difficulties during the process, officials will reach out to them through the backend system to offer further assistance.
Target of 1 crore consumers by March 2027
The main objective of this scheme is to provide rooftop solar panels to 10 million households nationwide by March 2027. To date, approximately 4 million families across the country have taken advantage of this scheme and installed solar panels. The government believes that the launch of this WhatsApp bot will completely eliminate the hesitation of consumers who have previously been apprehensive about cost, eligibility, and the complex application process.
