On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the prices of Gold and silver declined right from the moment the market opened on Wednesday. Silver futures prices had dropped by approximately ₹2,000 in recent days, while a decline was also recorded in gold prices.
Today, June 4, the price of 1 kg of silver on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) stands at ₹262,999. With the opening of the market today, the price of 24-carat Gold on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has reached ₹158,916.
Silver Prices Decline
Taking a look at MCX silver prices, on Thursday—the fourth trading day of the week—the price of silver with a July 3 expiry remains steady at ₹262,999. A decline has been recorded in silver prices. Compared to yesterday, silver prices have dropped by approximately ₹2,000. The metal is now trading at a ₹190,000 discount to its all-time high. In January, silver touched a lifetime high of ₹457,328.

Gold Becomes Cheaper
A decline has also been observed in gold prices on the MCX. This precious metal has slipped below the ₹160,000 mark. Looking at the MCX Gold Rate at 9:30 AM this morning, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat Gold—with an August 5 expiry—fell to ₹158,916. Gold is currently available at a discount of approximately ₹45,400 from its peak.

According to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), by the time the market closed on Wednesday evening, Gold was recorded at ₹155,036 per 10 grams.
