Annapurna Yojana 2026 – Women to Get ₹3,000 Per Month DBT, Check Eligibility & How to Apply

: Currently, various schemes are being implemented by both the Central and State governments. The government is committed to providing financial assistance to the public by every possible means. On one hand, the Delhi government has introduced significant changes to the rules of its ration scheme, raising the annual income eligibility limit from ₹1 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh.

On the other hand, the government has launched a new ‘Annapurna Yojana’ specifically for women. Under this scheme, eligible women will receive financial assistance of ₹3,000 per month, deposited directly into their bank accounts. This scheme is set to take effect on June 1, 2026, and funds will be transferred to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The government states that the objective of this scheme is to empower women financially and to provide them with relief.

According to the government’s notification, women aged between 25 and 60 years will be eligible to avail themselves of the benefits of this scheme. However, certain conditions have been stipulated. Women holding government jobs, those receiving government pensions, and those who pay income tax will not be eligible for this scheme. The monthly sum of ₹3,000 provided under this scheme will be transferred to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer.

Who Will Receive the Benefits?
Women aged between 25 and 60 years will be the beneficiaries of this scheme. However, specific conditions apply: women employed in government jobs, those receiving government pensions, and income tax payers will not be eligible to avail themselves of the benefits of this scheme. The government asserts that the primary objective is to provide comprehensive assistance to economically vulnerable women.

New Beneficiaries Can Also Apply
The online application process is scheduled to commence on June 1. Interested women can apply via the Annapurna Yojana portal. Following the application submission, officials will verify the submitted documents and assess the applicant’s eligibility. Block Development Officers (BDOs) in rural areas and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) in urban areas will verify the applications and forward the list of eligible beneficiaries to the District Administration.

To apply, women must keep the necessary documents—such as their Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, mobile number, and Proof of Residence—ready. The best part is that the Annapurna Yojana application process can be completed online, allowing people to apply from the comfort of their homes.

How to Apply for the Annapurna Yojana
If you wish to avail the benefits of the Annapurna Yojana, the online application process is expected to commence on June 1, 2026. The government has announced that a new portal will be launched, through which women will be able to apply from their homes.

What will be the Verification Process?
The applications will be scrutinised by government officials; subsequently, the Block Development Officers (BDOs) in rural areas and the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) in urban areas will forward the list of eligible applicants online to the District Magistrate for approval. Following this verification process, eligible women will receive the benefits of this scheme.
