The Hyundai Creta, which has dominated the mid-size SUV segment in the Indian automobile market for years, is now ready for its biggest and most revolutionary transformation. Hyundai is rapidly working on the third generation of this superhit SUV, the next-generation 2027 Hyundai Creta (codenamed SX3).
Recent leaked spy photos and media reports have made it clear that the upcoming Creta will be larger, more luxurious, safer, and more high-tech than ever before. Launched in early 2027, the new Creta will feature several major cosmetic and mechanical changes that will once again set a new benchmark in the mid-size SUV segment. Let’s learn every detail about the new 2027 Creta.
Size and Exterior

The 2027 Hyundai Creta will have a bolder, more muscular, and rugged appearance than the current model. The company is building it on its all-new and advanced Global K3 platform, which is significantly stronger than the current architecture.
Its side and rear profile will feature a sloping roofline, a striking new roof spoiler, shorter overhangs, and all-new 18-inch and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The front will feature sharp LED lighting and Hyundai’s new global design language inspired by EVs.
Interior and High-Tech Features
The new Creta’s cabin will feel like a luxury car, offering a seamless blend of technology and comfort. The company is redesigning its entire dashboard. The interior’s biggest highlight will be the large, free-standing curved dual-screen setup.
It will feature a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital driver display. This new system will run on Hyundai’s latest Plios Connect software, offering a smooth user interface and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
In addition, a new AI voice assistant (Gleo) will be included in the cabin, allowing you to operate basic car features (such as opening the sunroof or controlling the AC) with just your voice. Additionally, over-the-air (OTA) software updates will automatically update the car’s technology over time.
Comfort and Safety
Hyundai has paid special attention to rear passenger comfort in the new Creta, making it a perfect family SUV. For the first time, the vehicle also features an electric “Boss Mode.” With this, rear passengers will be able to electrically slide and recline their front passenger seat at the press of a button, providing them with ample legroom.
Furthermore, the car will also feature features like a 10-way powered driver’s seat, adjustable headrests for all three rear passengers, and premium ventilated seats.
Designed to create history in safety, the new Creta is aiming for a 5-star safety rating. It features advanced Level 2+ ADAS (anti-lock braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist), side parking sensors to make parking in tight spaces easier, and built-in front and rear dashcams, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, and six airbags as standard.
Engine Options

Mechanically, the new Creta will retain its existing and reliable engines, including the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol (115PS), 1.5-liter Kappa turbo-petrol (160PS), and the segment-best-selling 1.5-liter U2 CRDi diesel engine. These will continue to be offered with manual, IVT, DCT, and torque converter automatic gearbox options. But the most revolutionary update of this generation will be its all-new Strong Hybrid powertrain.
Hyundai will pair its 1.5-liter petrol engine with two electric motors and a small battery pack. This hybrid technology will make the car highly efficient, enabling the SUV to deliver incredible mileage of 25 to 30 km/l even in heavy city traffic. The introduction of the hybrid option will directly challenge the hybrid models of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.
Expected Prices
The next-generation Creta 2027 is expected to feature a highly modern platform and hybrid technology, which could lead to a slight increase in prices compared to the current model. Expected ex-showroom prices are expected to start at ₹11.00 lakh and go up to ₹21.50 lakh.
