Gold Price: Gold and silver prices witnessed a fresh surge today, May 21, 2026 (Thursday). The prices of gold and silver have been fluctuating, with gold prices rising at times and falling at others. On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), at 9:10 AM, gold was trading at ₹159,712 per 10 grams, following a decline of 0.18 per cent. In the previous session on the MCX, up until 10:39 PM, silver was observed trading with a gain of ₹4,381.
According to data from the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), by the time the market closed on Wednesday evening, the price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹158,560 per 10 grams (excluding 3% GST and making charges). Meanwhile, the price of 22-carat gold was ₹154,750 per 10 grams.
MCX Gold Rates
On the MCX, prices of both metals were trending upward until 10:39 PM on Wednesday night. Silver for July delivery was trading with a gain of ₹4,381, standing at ₹274,500 per kilogram. Meanwhile, gold prices were up by ₹921, with gold trading at ₹160,001 per 10 grams. On Thursday morning at 10:17 AM, gold for June 5 delivery on the MCX remained steady at ₹159,561 per 10 grams, while silver for July 3 delivery remained steady at ₹272,350 per kilogram.
According to data from GoodReturns, in the previous session, 24-carat gold stood at ₹158,350 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, silver stood at ₹2,80,000 per kg.
