Amid protests by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the promise of free LPG cylinders, BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday assured that the party will fulfil all the promises made in its manifesto. He said the AAP will soon have to face consequences worse than the Congress.

Sachdeva said, “Aatishi and AAP do politics of lies, arrogance and confrontation. They have always made false promises. Earlier they used to protest against our promise of giving Rs 2,500 to women. Now they are worried about cylinders. I want to tell them that BJP will fulfil all the promises made in the Sankalp Patra. We just need to follow some budgetary rules. People have rejected them and soon AAP will have to face a situation worse than Congress.”

AAP leaders demonstrated at ITO

Earlier today, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders staged a protest at ITO and put up a banner against BJP’s promise of free LPG cylinders. Speaking to ANI, AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar slammed the BJP and called it a ‘jumla’ party for failing to fulfil the promise of giving free cylinders and Rs 2500 to Delhi residents.

BJP had made promises before the assembly elections

In its party manifesto for the Delhi assembly elections, the BJP had promised to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to the women of Delhi under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. The party had also promised to provide LPG cylinders to women from low-income families for Rs 500.

Apart from this, the party had also promised to give one free cylinder each on the occasions of Holi and Diwali. On March 8, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the BJP-led government in the national capital will fulfil all its promises. The CM had said that she will work for the welfare and safety of women.
