Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana Eligibility: Will Girls from Other States Studying in Delhi Get Benefits? Know ASAP

Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana Eligibility: The Delhi government has launched the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana to financially secure the education and future of daughters. Expanding the Ladli Yojana, the Delhi government has now implemented it as the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to daughters throughout their education, from birth to graduation or diploma completion, so that they do not have to interrupt their studies due to lack of funds.

Under the scheme, the government will deposit funds into daughters’ accounts in a phased manner, which, including interest, will exceed Rs 1 lakh by the time they reach 21 years of age. Many questions are arising in people’s minds regarding this scheme. Therefore, let us explain whether the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana will also benefit girls from other states studying in Delhi and what the rules are.

Will daughters from other states also benefit from the scheme?

According to the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana rules, this scheme is only available to girls born in Delhi, whose families have lived in Delhi for at least three years, and whose annual family income does not exceed Rs 1.20 lakh. This means that if a girl is studying in Delhi but was born in another state or whose family is not a permanent resident of Delhi, she will not be eligible for the scheme. According to the scheme, a maximum of two daughters per family are eligible for the scheme. However, some conditions are relaxed for daughters living in government or licensed daycare centers.

How much money is available under the Lakhpati Scheme?

Under the Lakhpati Bitiya Scheme, the government will deposit funds into daughters’ Aadhaar-linked accounts in phases. 11,000 rupees will be deposited at birth. 5,000 rupees each will be deposited upon passing grades 1, 6, 9, 10, and 12. An additional 20,000 rupees will be provided upon graduation or diploma completion. Overall, the government will deposit approximately 56,000 rupees into daughters’ accounts, which, with interest, will exceed 1 lakh rupees by the age of 21. This amount will be transferred directly to daughters’ accounts through DBT.

How can one apply for the scheme?

Applications for the Lakhpati Bitiya Scheme will begin on April 1, 2026. Registration will be required on Delhi’s e-District portal. Applications require a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, income certificate, Delhi residency certificate, and bank account details.
