She clarified that the wedding had been cancelled and appealed for privacy.
In her note, she wrote, “There has been a lot of speculation about my life over the past few weeks, and I feel it’s the right time for me to speak out. I’m a very private person and like to keep things that way, but I want to clarify that the wedding is canceled. I would like this matter to end here, and I request you all to leave it at that. Please respect the privacy of both families at this time and give us space to understand and move forward in our own way.

“Concluding her statement, Mandhana also said, “I believe we all have a higher purpose driving us forward, and for me, that has always been representing my country at the highest level. Smriti Mandhana’s statement came after her wedding to Palash Muchhal was postponed on the day her father was hospitalized. Meanwhile, rumors began circulating that Palash was unfaithful. Palash was also hospitalized in Sangli, where the wedding was supposed to take place, but later returned to Mumbai with his family. Rumors and speculation continued, but both remained silent. However, on December 7th, both issued a statement clarifying the breakup.
