The current deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar ends on December 31. If you do not link it within this period, you may face problems.
If you fail to link PAN and Aadhaar, your PAN card will become inactive. Along with this, the TCS rate will also be higher. Business and tax-related benefits will stop working.
Not only that, but loans will not be available from banks. No new accounts can be opened. Not everyone must link their PAN and Aadhaar numbers together. Below is a list of individuals that do not have to link these numbers.

On May 25, 2017 the Ministry of Finance issued an announcement. In that special order, they are confirming that the residents of Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, and Meghalaya do not need to link their PAN and Aadhaar numbers together.
In addition, under Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act, any individuals who are non-residents of India are exempt from the requirement to link their PAN and Aadhaar numbers together.

Citizens who have attained the age of eighty years or above at any time in the previous year are also not required to do so.
Also, individuals who are not Indian citizens are not required to link PAN and Aadhaar.
PAN card has been mandatory since 2007. If you are not sure whether your PAN is linked with Aadhaar card or not. You should check it once.
The easiest process of PAN Aadhaar linking
Another easy way to link Aadhaar-PAN is through SMS. For that, you have to go to SMS and write UIDPIN. Then write Aadhaar Number. Right after that, you have to give PAN Number. Now send this SMS (UIDPIN<12 digit Aadhaar number<10 digit PAN number>) to 567678 or 56161. If your PAN number is linked with your Aadhaar card, then in a while a message will come on your phone, where it will be written that your PAN has been linked with Aadhaar.
Now the easiest way to link PAN Aadhaar is this SMS. To do that SMS successfully, you have to understand how to give Aadhaar and PAN numbers consecutively in the right way. After typing UIDPIN from your registered mobile number, first write 12 digit Aadhaar number with space, then again write 10 digit PAN number with space. From there, you have to send the message to 567678 or 56161. Once your PAN Aadhaar is linked, a message will be sent to that number.
