“I think he’s a free and aggressive captain. If he has to make a decision, he thinks about it beforehand and doesn’t stress out. He remains calm even under pressure,” 24-year-old Harshit said at the press conference after the first ODI.

Gill gives his teammates the confidence to express themselves on the field. Harshit likes this quality about his captain. He said, “I personally like this. He’s a free captain. He gives the players the freedom to do what they want on the field. This is one of his best qualities, which I like.”

Harshit said that the Indian team management wants to develop him as an all-rounder. The pacer said, “The team management wants to develop me as an all-rounder, and I am constantly working on it. I am focusing on my batting during practice sessions. It was a matter of confidence, in which KL Rahul Bhai helped me.”

Harshit further stated, “My team wants me to bat at number eight as an all-rounder. I focus on that as much as possible during practice sessions. I believe that if needed, I can score 30-40 runs for the team while batting in the lower order, and the team management also believes that I can do that.”
