A wonderful batting and run chase by team India. Washington Sundar, who mostly known for his spin bowling abilities, did incredible with the bat and make sure a win for his team. It was a very important win for India against Australia. During the attacking batting, Sundar broke MS Dhoni’s old record.
Washington Sundar performed brilliantly with the bat in the third match of the five-match T20 series against Australia. Sundar played a powerful innings of 49 runs in 23 balls for Team India. In his innings, Washington also hit 4 sixes and 3 fours. Coming in to bat at number six, Washington opened his account with a six on the second ball of his innings. After this, Washington Sundar wreaked havoc on the Australian bowlers. Especially against Sean Abbott, he scored 17 runs in 4 balls.
Washington Sundar break MS Dhoni’s record
Sundar faced four balls against Sean Abbott, who came in to bowl the 14th over for Australia, hitting two sixes, one four, and a single. In this over, he and Tilak Varma added 19 runs. This over by Sean Abbott proved to be a turning point for the Indian team, leading to a five-wicket victory. The Indian team won the match against Australia with nine balls to spare.
With this victory, Team India has now leveled the five-match series 1-1. In the third T20I played in Hobart, Team India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, Australia posted a score of 186 runs in 20 overs, thanks to fifties from Tim David and Marcus Stoinis. In response to Australia’s score, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma made a quick start for the Indian team, but they couldn’t extend their innings.
This allowed the Australian bowlers to make a comeback. India lost four wickets for 111 runs in 11.1 overs, but Washington Sundar’s explosive batting then eliminated Australia from the match, securing India’s victory with nine balls to spare.
