The Indian cricket team will soon play its first international match of 2026. India vs. New Zealand series begins on January 11th.

The first match is scheduled to be played in Baroda. Team India will soon arrive there and begin its preparations. The second match of the series will be played on January 14th in Rajkot. The third and final match of the series will be played on January 18th at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, marking the end of the series.

Meanwhile, as far as match start times are concerned, the series will be held in India, so matches will begin in the afternoon and continue until late evening. All matches will begin at 1:30 PM, with the toss taking place half an hour before, at 1 PM. Matches will also conclude by around 9 PM, unless they are a full 50-over format. The good thing is that all matches will be played at the same time, so you won’t need to adjust your schedule every day.

The BCCI recently announced Team India’s squad for the series. Shubman Gill is once again the captain, and Rohit Sharma has also been selected for the series alongside Virat Kohli. While Shreyas Iyer has been named vice-captain for the series, he will only be able to play if he is fully fit. Shreyas has proven this by playing a match in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, but it remains to be seen what the BCCI thinks.
