Weather Alert – A cold wave is sweeping across North India, from the mountains to the plains, with temperatures plummeting. Continuous snowfall in the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh is causing severe cold. The situation in Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir is also grim. The situation is worsening.

Dense fog has enveloped most areas of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, worsening the situation. Driving is becoming increasingly difficult. Dense fog in the morning and evening has forced drivers to use their indicators. Meanwhile, heavy rains in several areas of South India have led to a drop in temperatures. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in several areas.

Heavy Rain Warning in These States

According to the Meteorological Department, an alert has been issued for moderate to heavy rainfall in many areas of Tamil Nadu in the coming days. Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected. Additionally, a warning has been issued for heavy rain in several locations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands between December 8th and 10th.

Thunderstorms, thunderstorms, and strong gusty winds are expected here. Meanwhile, moderate rain is forecast in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on December 8th. Additionally, a gradual drop of 2–3°C in minimum temperatures is expected in western India over the next 3–4 days.

According to the Meteorological Department, cold is also expected in many areas of Madhya Pradesh, North Vidarbha, and Odisha. Dense fog is also expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Manipur during the early morning hours between December 8th and 12th.

Dense fog is expected to further reduce visibility in selected areas of Mizoram and Tripura. Dense fog is expected in Himachal Pradesh between December 8th and 10th, and in Odisha on December 8th and 9th.
