Tilak Varma smashes a stormy century in Vijay Hazare Trophy, scores that many runs

New Delhi: The Vijay Hazare Trophy is currently attracting a lot of attention from fans, as several international players are participating in it. Thanks to his efforts, the Hyderabad team posted a strong total of 286 runs. This performance has once again raised hopes of his return to the ODI team.

Tilak Varma is hoping for a comeback in the ODI format. He played his last ODI match in Visakhapatnam. He didn’t get a chance to bat in that match. His excellent performance against Chandigarh has once again boosted his chances of returning to the ODI team. He has already played several match-winning innings for the Indian team.

After his outstanding performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Tilak Varma is back in the spotlight. In the match played in Rajkot, Hyderabad batted first. Hyderabad’s start was not good, losing two wickets for just 39 runs. Tilak Varma, batting at number three, steadied the innings and scored 109 runs.

Meanwhile, Abhirath Reddy also played a crucial innings of 71 runs off 64 balls, hitting two fours and five sixes. Thanks to the brilliant performances of both players, the Hyderabad team managed to post a target of 286 runs in 50 overs. This was Tilak Varma’s sixth century in his List A career.

Tilak Varma’s performance in the ODI format

For your information, Tilak Varma made his ODI debut for India against Bangladesh in 2023. However, in the last two years, he has only played five ODI matches, scoring 68 runs. However, Tilak has already scored 1,183 runs in 40 T20 International matches. He has cemented his place in India’s T20 team, but his place in the ODI team is not yet secure. His performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy could pave the way for his inclusion.
