Monsoon Alert – The intense cold in most parts of North India has disrupted daily life. The cold weather, coupled with cloudy skies, is preventing people from seeing the sun. People are longing for some warm sunshine. The biting cold has made life difficult in Delhi-NCR as well. The situation is similar in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.

In Himachal Pradesh, snowfall has severely affected daily life. The situation remains critical in the hilly regions of Kashmir and Uttarakhand due to the icy winds, causing considerable distress to everyone. Several parts of South India are experiencing rainfall. Weather in Uttar Pradesh

The IMD has issued a cold wave alert for most areas of Uttar Pradesh. In several districts, there is a possibility of rain amidst the intense cold. The IMD has predicted rain and hailstorms in Bulandshahr, Mathura, Hathras, and several other areas of western Uttar Pradesh. Saharapur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, and Ghaziabad are expected to experience light rain with lightning. Most parts of the state will remain shrouded in fog.

Weather in Bihar

The Meteorological Department has indicated that the severity of the cold is likely to increase in Bihar. An orange alert has been issued for cold wave conditions in Patna, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Saran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran, and West Champaran for the next 24 hours. Strong cold winds and cold day conditions are expected for the next two days.

Air Quality in Delhi

Air quality levels in Delhi may deteriorate again. Light rain in some areas has led to cold nights and intensely cold days. On some days, the sun did come out in Delhi, and people went out to enjoy it. People were seen chatting in parks and open spaces. According to the IMD (India Meteorological Department), Delhi’s minimum temperature is expected to be around 6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature around 17 degrees Celsius.

Rain is expected in several parts of South India.

The IMD has issued a warning of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu on January 10th and 11th. Rain is expected in Puducherry, Karaikal, Chennai, Pudukkottai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Cuddalore, Ramanathapuram, and Thiruvarur over the next two days. Winds are likely to reach speeds of 55 to 65 km per hour in these areas.

Fishermen have been advised to stay away from coastal areas for the next 50 hours. A heavy rainfall alert has also been issued forthe coastal areas of Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. Rain is also possible in several parts of Maharashtra.
