Maharashtra Election Results 2026 – The BJP appears to be consolidating its hold on Mumbai politics. In the elections held for 19 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, including the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation), the BJP completely routed its opponents. The biggest loser in this election was Raj Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray’s brother.

The picture is almost clear: for the first time in 45 years, the BJP is set to have a mayor in the BMC. The results clearly show that the Thackeray brothers’ alliance proved to be a complete failure. They were rejected by the public across most seats in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
