delhi-NCR weather update: The weather in Delhi-NCR has taken a sudden turn. Today—June 4th—clouds gathered over several areas during the afternoon hours. In certain parts of the NCR, including Noida, heavy rainfall accompanied by strong gusty winds is currently underway.
The Meteorological Department had already issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in Delhi-NCR for today. As a result of the precipitation, the weather in Delhi-NCR has turned pleasantly cool, offering residents much-needed relief from the scorching heat. A decline in Delhi’s maximum temperature has also been recorded.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of Delhi-NCR are experiencing thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds blowing at speeds of up to 70 km/h. Noida and Greater Noida—areas adjacent to Delhi—are also witnessing heavy rainfall.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected today. The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for June 4th and 5th. According to the department’s forecast, a spell of strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, and light rainfall is expected to continue. This will lead to a drop in temperature and provide relief to people from the blistering heat.

Rain Accompanied by Strong Winds
According to the local weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature today is projected at 38°C, while the minimum is expected to be around 28°C. In the afternoon, winds are blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. Furthermore, the spell of light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely to continue into the night.
Rain Warning for June 5
Similar weather conditions are expected to persist in Delhi-NCR on June 5 as well. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be 28 degrees Celsius. The spell of rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, will continue tomorrow as well. Furthermore, lightning strikes may accompany the thunder. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for both of these days.
