Train Cancelled: Nearly 30 million passengers travel by train daily in India. To transport these passengers to their destinations, the Railways operates thousands of trains daily. However, these days, many parts of the country are experiencing severe cold, which is impacting railway operations. Dense fog, weather-related problems, and sometimes security concerns have forced changes to train timetables. Sometimes trains are delayed, and sometimes cancellations become a necessity.
One such incident has now surfaced for the next three days. This news is especially important for passengers traveling through the Tatanagar Railway Division. The railway administration has decided to cancel several MEMU and passenger trains from January 7, 2026, to January 9, 2026. This step has been taken solely with passenger safety in mind, to avoid any untoward incidents.

Trains cancelled due to this reason
The railway administration stated that the decision to cancel trains was made with passenger safety as a priority. Certain sections under the Chakradharpur Railway Division are currently extremely sensitive. Wild elephants are frequently seen roaming the tracks adjacent to the forest. Sometimes, elephants suddenly cross the railway lines, posing a significant threat to trains.

According to officials, continuing regular train operations in such circumstances is risky. To avoid any accidents and ensure the safety of life and property, the Railways has decided to temporarily cancel MEMU and passenger trains. The Railways says that train operations will resume as soon as the situation returns to normal. Passengers have been urged to check their train status before traveling.
These trains will be Cancelled
1. Train No. 68010/68009/68006/68011 Chakradharpur–Tatanagar–Kharagpur–Tatanagar–Chakradharpur MEMU train will be cancelled on both sides from January 7, 2026, to January 9, 2026. This may cause inconvenience to passengers travelling daily on the Chakradharpur, Tatanagar, and Kharagpur routes.

2. Train No. 68019/68020 Tatanagar–Gua–Tatanagar MEMU train will remain cancelled from 07 January 2026 to 09 January 2026. Passengers travelling daily between Tatanagar and Gua may face inconvenience due to this.
3. Train No. 68043/68044 Tatanagar–Rourkela–Tatanagar MEMU train will be cancelled on both sides from January 7, 2026, to January 9, 2026. This may cause inconvenience to passengers travelling daily between Tatanagar and Rourkela.

4. Train No. 18176/18175 Jharsuguda–Hatia–Jharsuguda MEMU train will remain cancelled from both sides from January 7, 2026 to January 9, 2026. Passengers travelling between Jharkhand and Odisha may have to change their plans.
5. Train No. 58151/58152 Barampahar–Bangiriposi–Barampahar Passenger train will be cancelled both ways from January 7, 2026, to January 9, 2026. This may cause inconvenience to passengers traveling daily between Barampahar and Bangiriposi.
