PMMVY: The central government operates several government schemes for pregnant women, including the PM Matru Vandana Yojana. Through this scheme, the government is helping women during pregnancy so they can take care of themselves and their children. If you are pregnant or know someone who is expecting a baby, you can use this scheme to help them. Under this scheme, the government directly transfers up to ₹11,000 into women’s accounts. If you haven’t yet taken advantage of this, you can apply.

The objective of this scheme is to strengthen the health and nutrition of women by providing financial assistance during pregnancy and childbirth, ensuring the health of both mother and child. Under this scheme, funds are transferred directly to women’s bank accounts through DBT.

Who receives ₹11,000?

The government provides ₹5,000 for the birth of a first child. This is paid in three installments. The first installment is given upon pregnancy registration, the second upon completion of a health check-up, and the third upon receipt of the child’s birth certificate and vaccination. This scheme considers the various needs of women.

If the second child is a girl, she will receive an additional ₹6,000. This provides an additional ₹6,000 in assistance, bringing the total amount to ₹11,000.
