If you are looking for an electric SUV that gives the perfect combination of luxury, technology, space and power, then Mahindra is ready to give this segment a new look with its new XEV 9S. The company has released a new teaser, confirming that the SUV will come with the Electric Boss Mode feature — which is one of its biggest features. Right now, it has no direct match in the three-row electric SUV market, making the XEV 9S a brand new segment.
Design

The first impression of the Mahindra XEV 9S is that it is a modern, futuristic and premium electric SUV. Its front face, which has become the hallmark of EVs, has a closed-off front face. The integrated LED DRL bar gives it a powerful and high-tech appeal. The triangular projector headlamps and aero-optimized alloy wheels further enhance the design’s aggressive and stylish look. Clean and sharp design at the rear, with thin LED taillamps, give it a look like the Mahindra XUV700 and has a special identity. The overall look of the SUV is quite premium and has a good presence on the road.
Interior

In the case of the cabin, the XEV 9S looks quite futuristic. Its interior is similar to the XEV 9e, but it gives a more premium feel. Light and modern color tones create a sofistic lounge-like atmosphere, especially for long trips. The dashboard features Mahindra’s signature triple-screen setup — a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment screen, and a passenger-side display. All three screens further strengthen the SUV’s technology-centric approach.
Features
In terms of features, XEV 9S is set to set a new benchmark in this segment. The teaser features several high-end features, such as ventilated front seats, dual-zone AC, a wireless charger, a two-spoke steering wheel (with the illuminated logo), and soft-touch material throughout the dashboard. The INGLO platform is its greatest strength, as it comes with a flat-floor design — meaning better place in first and second row, comfort and easy entry into third row. In addition, a panoramic sunroof and Harmon Cardan audio system further enhance the premium SUV vibe.

But the real thing is — electric boss mode — a game-changer. Second Row passengers can slide and recline the passenger seat ahead of a special control panel, greatly increasing the legroom. This feature was previously manual in the XUV700, but has been electricized in the XEV 9S, bringing it to flagship level.
Range
![]()
Mahindra has not yet revealed the official powertrain, but it is expected to use 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery packs, just like the XEV 9e and BE 6. These battery units produce power of 231hp and 286hp and torque of 380Nm. The most important thing is that large battery packs in Mahindra’s present-day EVs give a range of over 650km. Therefore, the XEV 9S will also easily give a 600km+ range and support ultra-fast DC charging, allowing long-distance EV travel to a new level.
