For this, you will not need to go to a government office.

You can apply for a ration card while sitting at home through the Umang app. Earlier, people used to stand in queues for hours in government offices to get a ration card and had to wait for a long time. Now this process has become very easy.

It should be noted that the ration card contains your personal details, such as name and address, as well as details of your family members. The ration card also helps determine the number of family members. It also allows you to avail of various government schemes. The ration card is an important document issued by the Government of India.

This is how ration card will be made through Umang app

1. First of all download UMANG app in your mobile.

2. After this register with mobile number.

3. The home page will open. Go to the Services section here.

4. After this, search for ration card related option in Utility Services.

5. Click on Apply Ration Card.

6. Select your state and fill in the required information.

7. Enter personal details like name, father’s name and date of birth.

8. Fill in the address and other required information.

9. Finally upload the documents and click on the Submit button.

Keep these things in mind

Currently, only residents of a few states can apply for ration cards through the UMANG app. These include Chandigarh, Ladakh, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Only residents of these states can apply for ration cards. The service will be expanded to more states in the future. A ration card is an important document issued by the Government of India. It contains information about your family members. It can help you determine how many members are in your family and which government schemes you can benefit from.
