Ramadan Special Ration –Govt Rolls Out Ramadan Special Ration, Extra things will be provided

Ramadan Special Ration: Keeping in mind the holy month of Ramadan, the Mamata Banerjee government has announced a special food assistance package. According to a notice issued by the state’s Food and Supplies Department, essential food items will be provided at subsidized rates to ration cardholder families under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Special Priority Category (SPHH) for a specified period.

According to a government decision, this facility will be effective this week until March 19. Eligible families will be able to obtain subsidized sugar at Rs 32 per kilogram, flour at Rs 30 per kilogram, and chickpeas at Rs 65 per kilogram from their nearest ration shops. All items will be provided at controlled prices.

Why was this step taken?

Food department officials say that demand for food items increases during Ramadan, so this step has been taken to provide relief to economically weaker sections. Necessary instructions have been issued to ration dealers across the state to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out.

The administration has urged eligible cardholders to collect supplies from ration shops within the stipulated timeframe. The government claims that such efforts will continue to ensure food security.

Ration cards in India are issued to families by state governments. They are an official document that facilitates the purchase of affordable grains from the public distribution system under the National Food Security Act. Furthermore, they serve as proof of identity and address in India. The government has now made KYC mandatory for ration cards, making it crucial for everyone to update their KYC. If you haven’t updated your KYC, you may lose access to rations. You can check your ration card’s KYC status by visiting the official website of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in India. Here, we explain in detail how to check your ration card’s KYC status.
