Punjab National Bank has made a big decision before Christmas. The bank has reduced service charges for the convenience of lakhs of customers. According to a notification issued by PNB on October 16, 2025, all types of locker service charges have been reduced. The new charges will come into effect from November 15, 2025. This decision to cut locker charges will benefit lakhs of customers across the country. It is an important update for those who use PNB’s locker facilities.

Punjab National Bank Reduces Locker Charges

Punjab National Bank has reduced locker charges to make banking easier for customers. The new rates apply in all regions so that everyone can benefit.

In rural areas

  1. small locker charges have been reduced from Rs 1,000 to Rs 750.
  2. Medium locker charges have come down from Rs 2,500 to Rs 1,900.

In semi-urban areas

  • small locker charges have been reduced from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,150,
  • and medium lockers from Rs 3,000 to Rs 2,250.

In urban and metro areas,

  • small locker charges have been cut from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,500,
  • and medium lockers from Rs 4,000 to Rs 3,000.

This step will help customers save money and use lockers more safely.

Free Locker Visits

PNB now allows 12 free locker visits every financial year. After that, customers will pay Rs 100 per visit. The bank will take written consent from customers while opening a new locker. This rule makes locker use easier and more transparent.

Locker Opening Rules

PNB can open a locker in some cases, like:

  • If the customer loses the key.
  • If the court or government gives an order.
  • If the customer does not follow bank rules.

Before opening the locker, the bank will send notices by letter, email, and SMS. If no reply comes, a public notice will be published, and 15 days will be given.
