Petrol-Diesel Price to Rise After LPG? Know ASAP

Petrol-Diesel Price: Big news for everyone. Late on Friday night, the government increased the prices of LPG. The government increased the price of domestic LPG cylinder by Rs 60. At the same time, the commercial gas cylinder became costlier by Rs 115. After which discussions started on whether the prices of petrol and diesel will also increase in the coming time? Big news has come out on this quoting sources. According to the report of news agency NAI, sources related to the government said that there will be no increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. According to sources, the government has increased the import of crude oil from sources other than the Strait of Hormuz by 10 percent.

Why did the problem arise?

On February 28th, Israel and the United States attacked Iran, resulting in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader. Following this, the Iranian Supreme Leader’s army, the IRGC, announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which carries 20 percent of the world’s oil imports.

According to a BBC report, Gulf countries have halved the crude oil they supply to India. LNG and LPG supplies have also been affected. In 2025, India imported a total of 25 million tons of LNG, of which 14 million tons came through the Strait of Hormuz. India joins China, Japan, and South Korea as the world’s largest importers of LNG.

LPG is a concern

Government sources say energy stocks are rapidly improving. However, the government is concerned about the LPG situation. Qatar has assured the Indian government that it will resume supplies as soon as the route fully reopens. Recently, Iran stated that it would not attack its neighbors. The silver lining from India’s perspective is that cargo has begun arriving through the Strait of Hormuz.

The price of a 19-kilogram commercial gas cylinder has also been increased by Rs 115. The current price of a commercial cylinder in Muzaffarpur was around Rs 2,005, which will now increase to around Rs 2,120. In the national capital, Delhi, the price of a 14.2-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder has now risen to Rs 913, up from Rs  853 previously. Similarly, the price of a 19-kilogram commercial cylinder has risen to Rs 1,883.

According to gas agencies, the new rates have been implemented with immediate effect, and consumers will now receive cylinders at the increased price. The higher domestic gas prices will increase the monthly expenses of ordinary families, while the higher commercial cylinder prices could also increase the costs of hotels, restaurants, and sweet shops.
