Rules Change from June 1st: The month of May has just two days left—today and tomorrow. Following this, a new month is set to begin with the arrival of June. The first day of any month holds significant importance for everyone, ranging from ordinary citizens to salaried professionals and various other segments of society. All eyes are now fixed on June 1st, as a host of regulations are set to undergo changes starting from this day.
These upcoming regulatory changes are considered to be of substantial significance to the general public. These modifications encompass rules related to LPG cylinder prices, PAN cards, and UPI transactions. Furthermore, changes regarding ATM transaction limits are also included in this list. Let us understand in detail the changes scheduled to take effect from June 1st.
Will LPG Cylinders Become More Expensive?
The country’s petroleum companies undertake a review of gas cylinder prices on the first day of every month. Based on an assessment of crude oil supply and market fluctuations (cost variations), gas cylinder rates will be revised on June 1, 2026. Apprehensions are growing among the public regarding a potential hike in the prices of domestic gas cylinders. Whether or not prices will rise—and by how much—will only become clear on the morning of June 1st.
PAN Card
The Central Government has introduced a major change regarding PAN card regulations. The good news is that you will no longer require a PAN card to deposit cash exceeding ₹50,000 in a single day. Instead, you will now only be required to furnish your PAN details under specific circumstances.
Specifically, if the aggregate cash deposits or withdrawals across all your bank accounts exceed ₹10 lakh within a single financial year, you will be required to provide your PAN details. Conversely, regulations regarding property-related transactions have been tightened. This means that a PAN card will now be mandatory for purchasing property valued at over ₹20 lakh; previously, this threshold was set at ₹10 lakh.
Some Trains to be Cancelled
If you are planning to book a train ticket for the month of June, it is advisable to gather information beforehand. This is because several trains are scheduled to be cancelled during June. In fact, Indian Railways is set to commence major infrastructure development projects and track upgrade works during the month of June.
Consequently, these activities may lead to widespread disruptions in train services. It is estimated that approximately 77 trains will be cancelled. Additionally, the routes and timetables of several other trains may change. The impact of this will be felt across several states, including West Bengal, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
