EPFO Update – A special initiative has been launched by the EPFO, which will benefit workers. EPFO Bihar and Jharkhand has launched the Employee Enrollment Campaign 2025 to provide comprehensive worker coverage. This campaign aims to provide social security coverage to workers.
This special campaign was announced by Suraj Sharma, Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner (Bihar and Jharkhand). He urged all employers in the state to take advantage of the limited-term scheme, which begins on November 1st and runs until April 30, 2026. According to Sharma, this scheme, notified by the Central Government under the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, aims to provide social security coverage to eligible employees.

Important Points Related to the Employee Enrollment Campaign
Employers can enroll all eligible employees employed in their establishments between July 1st, 2017, and October 31st, 2025, under the Employee Enrollment Campaign. Provided the employer has not previously collected this contribution from employees.
For this, the employer will only need to pay the previous period’s employer contribution plus applicable interest and administrative expenses. The compensation rate has also been reduced to a lump sum of ₹100. This will apply to all three schemes: the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, the Employees’ Deposit Insurance Scheme, and the Employees’ Pension Scheme.
All declarations must be made online on the portal.
It will be good to know that declarations will need to be made online on the EPFO portal. During the meeting, Suraj Sharma informed that establishments facing investigation proceedings can also avail of this scheme, provided the declaration is submitted within the prescribed conditions. He warned that providing incorrect information will render the declaration invalid and employers liable for punitive action.
