As one of the most important identification documents for Indian citizens; Aadhaar continues to be an essential part of every Indian citizen’s identity. The Government of India has taken steps to make Aadhaar mandatory before applying for a Driving License under the new rules. Aadhaar has become so important today that virtually every type of financial service cannot operate without using it. Learn how to link your Aadhaar with your driving license In just two minute.

  • First Of all Log in to the Road Transport Department’s website. Then select the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option.
  • Select ‘Driving License’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Enter your driving license number and select ‘Get Details’. Verify your driving license information.
  • Now enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
  • Select the ‘Submit’ button.
  • After this, you will receive an OTP on your mobile phone. Entering this OTP will complete the linking of your driving license with your Aadhaar.

Since driving licenses are issued by state governments, the procedure for linking Aadhaar with a driving license may vary from state to state. However, the main steps of the process will remain the same.

New Aadhar Update

The central government has made a major change to the rules regarding Aadhaar. From now on, private companies will also be able to use Aadhaar verification or authentication to provide services to their customers. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued a notification stating that this initiative aims to make life easier for the people of the country and simplify the process of providing various services. The government also stated that expanding the scope of Aadhaar authentication will ensure transparency in the transfer of customer information from government offices and institutions to private organizations.
