Maruti Suzuki Hybrid SUVs 2026 – 7-Seater Vitara and Fronx Facelift set to make comeback

Maruti Suzuki Hybrid SUVs 2026 – If a brand has ruled the Indian car market for years, it is Maruti Suzuki. But competition has also intensified with changing times. Now the company has given a clear indication that it is going to play big bets to regain 50% market share. And this bet is Maruti Suzuki Hybrid SUVs 2026.

Maruti is now going to enter the new round with lower prices, better mileage and new hybrid technologies. The 7-seater Grand Vitara based SUV on one side and the hybrid avatar of Fronx Facelift on the other side can both create a stir in the SUV segment.

7-Seater Grand Vitara

Maruti’s new 7-seater SUV will be based on the Grand Vitara. It will be built on Suzuki’s Global-C platform, which already features models such as Grand Vitara, Victoria and Brezza. However major changes will be made to this platform to add a longer wheelbase and a third row seat.

Its design will be completely new. This will look significantly different and more premium than the current Grand Vitara. The company is bringing it to compete with SUVs like Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar.

Talking about engine options, it will get a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, as well as a 1.5L TNGA hybrid engine sourced from Toyota. The Hybrid version will balance mileage and smooth driving.

The launch timeline is considered to be late 2026 or early 2027. That is, Maruti has also prepared to step firmly into the large SUV segment.

Fronx Facelift

The second major development is Fronx Facelift. Maruti Suzuki is now increasingly working on alternate fuel options. The Flex-fuel version of Fronx has already been shown at the global level.

Updated Fronx can come to India with petrol, Hybrid, CNG and Flex-fuel – all four options. If this happens, it will be Maruti’s first car to get so many different fuel options.

Most special thing will be its new series hybrid system, also known as range extender. It will use a 1.2L Z-Series, 3-cylinder NA petrol engine. This engine will not directly power the wheels, but will generate electricity. That power will drive the electric motor, which will propel the car.

ADAS and New Technologies

Fronx Facelift will not only have engine changes, but also technology upgrades. It is likely to have ADAS features, such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist and auto high beam.

This can make Fronx a safer and smarter SUV in its segment. From city congestion to highway drives, this new technology will make driving easier.
